Managing Director
Gareth is Managing Director and owner of Kaymac. Gareth has a background in Mechanical engineering where he undertook formal training at Treforest Polytechnics, which is now the University of Wales. Gareth then went onto qualify as a Commercial Diver in 1983 and worked in the North Sea and the Middle East until 1988 when he bought Kaymac Diving Services. Kaymac Marine & Civil Engineering Ltd. was registered in 1994 and the company has continued to provide diving services as well delivering Marine Civil Engineering projects.
Gareth’s duties include overseeing the running of the business and meeting his legal obligations as Director of the company.
Operations Director
Jeff Lippiett is the Operations Manager with Kaymac. Jeff joined Kaymac in 1992 as a Commercial Diver/Diving Supervisor. Currently, Jeff’s managerial responsibilities include the day-today planning, work allocation and coordination of the 38 staff members, including site personnel, Subcontractors and office staff. Responsibilities also include tendering, estimating, and ensuring that contracts are delivered on time and to budget with due consideration given to standards of quality, safety and the environment.
Project Director
Rhys has worked for Kaymac since 2009 and has worked on various projects for numerous clients. He has experience in the installation of a wide variety of scour protection systems, outfall installation and general Marine Engineering works across the UK. He has worked closely with clients through Early Contractor Involvement to help develop schemes from the feasibility stage through to completion. He is an experienced Project Manager & Chartered Civil Engineer. Rhys has a First-Class MSc in Civil & Structural Engineering from the University of South Wales and a BEng (Hons) degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nottingham.
Project coordinator
Jon Dean is a Project Coordinator with Kaymac Marine & Civil Engineering Ltd. He has coordinated in excess of 1200 projects since joining Kaymac ranging from small civils and marine works to major key contracts. Jon joined Kaymac in 2007 as an assistant to the Operations Manager. Following a year’s experience on site carrying out Structural inspections and preparing reports, his duties increased and he became Project Coordinator. Prior to joining Kaymac, he gained valuable experience working for a local domestic construction firm which eventually led him to return to college to complete his HND and Degree with Hons in Construction and Project Management.
Marketing & Business Development Director
Rhiannon is our Marketing and Business Development Manager. Rhiannon started with Kaymac in 2015 with a background in B2B marketing communications in the Manufacturing industry. Since being at Kaymac Rhiannon has crafted and implemented new marketing strategies to raise our brand awareness and proactively engages with clients in new and existing market sectors.
Head of Finance
Amy joined the Company in 2010 as an Accounts Assistant with experience in accounting practice, and is now Head of Finance at Kaymac Marine & Civil Engineering Ltd. With almost 20 years experience, Amy is responsible for all aspects of accounts and finance within the Company.
QS/Estimator
Gareth has worked for Kaymac since 2010 and has worked on various projects for numerous Clients across the UK. He has wide experience in site and project management and has worked closely with various clients through Early Contractor Involvement to help develop schemes from the feasibility stage through to completion. Gareth also has heavy involvement in estimating and bid writing.
Estimator/QS
Andrew is a Estimator/QS at Kaymac. Andrew has worked for the company since early 2010 alongside studying at The University of Glamorgan. His knowledge and experience enables him to work closely with our clients from initial ECI stage, attending site visits and pricing the works accordingly. Andrew regularly attends conferences/trade shows and keeps up to date with industry developments. Outside of Kaymac, Andrew is a Crew Member on The Mumbles RNLI Lifeboat.
Project Engineer
Steffan Williams is a Project Engineer with Kaymac. Steffan joined Kaymac in 2014 as a commercial diver. Prior to this, he attended Bournemouth University, where he achieved a BSc in Marine Science, then on to Swansea University, where a MEd in design Technology followed. At this point, Steffan decided to pursue his passion for diving, which then extended into a career as a self-employed commercial diver. As a diver Steffan has been lucky to have a unique perspective on how things are implemented in the marine and civil engineering environment and, although has enjoyed the challenges that diving has given him, he has always sought to extend his knowledge and further his understanding. As a result, since joining Kaymac Steffan has completed a HNC in Civil Engineering, and is currently studying a BSc in Civil Engineering. During his time with Kaymac, Steffan has led the structural inspection teams conducting Principal, General and Special inspections on structures across Wales and England.
Project Engineer
Terry is the assistant project engineer at Kaymac; he is responsible for carrying out bridge and culvert inspections and write detailed reports with any findings within the inspection. Terry has had comprehensive experience in monitoring safe site practice, and safe systems of works working near water. Terry has experience carrying out works with water contractors on the repair and maintenance contracts, this entailed repairing leaking water mains of all sizes. Terry has achieved an NVQ in construction and civil engineering.
Dive Superintendent
Alan has a responsible and well-disciplined approach to work and is a committed and resourceful team leader. Alan is accustomed to working quickly and accurately to strict deadlines and in demanding, pressurised conditions. He has been with Kaymac for 23 Years, started as an apprentice and now undertaken a supervisor role undergoing major projects.
Project Manager
Jonny joined Kaymac in November 2006 as a diving apprentice. Jonny has gained valuable experience whilst working in diverse engineering environment and has learned Kaymac’s other specialist services, from civil engineering, operating construction related and marine plant, fabrication and welding to heavy mechanical engineering. In 2008 he became an assistant dive supervisor before later progressing to site manager for some of Kaymac’s high profile projects. Currently holding the responsibility of delivering projects safely, on time, within budget and with consideration for the environment. Jonny is able to assist potential clients with projects and suggest buildable solutions.
Civils Foreman
Dean joined the company in 2017 in his current role. In his role of Civil Foreman, Dean is responsible for managing and coordinating the civil engineering teams at site level. This includes controlling multiple sites at any one time, and ensuring they are running effectively in accordance with the approved methodology and programme.
Dive Supervisor
Sam has had a passion for diving at a young age which resulted in himself perusing a career in the marine industry. Sam started commercial diving at the age of 20 which resulted in him completing his qualification as a dive master. After joining Kaymac in 2008 as a sub-contractor, Sam has impressed with his work ethic resulting in him being offered a role as a full-time diver in 2012. After 5 Years of service Sam has taken on new roles as he started a new role as a Diving supervisor, carrying out projects on site, writing detailed reports and maintain equipment for all diving personnel. Sam has experience of over 1ooo logged diving operations as he aims to gain more valuable experience and to expand his knowledge of the industry gaining qualifications in confined spaces and first aid to expand work capabilities.
