Kaymac have extensive experience in the placing of concrete above & below the water line in the form of structural repairs and scour protection. Regularly Kaymac's Concrete and Grout placement team are called upon by clients to first carry out a detailed survey on a structure, to then propose a solution to any defects identified during the survey and finally to carry out the proposed repair in sometimes difficult and poor access locations.
Traditionally, the proposed repairs are in the form of formwork and letterbox concrete placement, concrete ‘bagwork’ and in-situ concrete pumping. On all projects that lie within a watercourse, we consult with the local Environmental council to notify them of the proposed works and all measures are made to ensure minimum disruption to the local ecology.
We have also completed a number of projects where Proserve fabric formwork has been used to offer a scour protection solution. Most recently, we placed 3500m2 of the fabric formwork for Laing O'Rourke at the Shell Oil Jetty, Stanford Le Hope and also 800m2 of the product for Morrison/British Waterways at Sharpness Docks.
