Filton Brook Culvert Extension

Filton Brook Culvert Extension

Following a railway embankment failure, Kaymac Marine & Civil Engineering Ltd were commissioned by Balfour Beatty Rail to carry out works to extend 2 culverts that run perpendicular to the track beneath the railway line at New Road, Bristol. The ‘Filton Brook’ Watercourse feeds the culverts with the main (East) culvert being a 1200mm ID concrete pipe and the overflow (West) culvert being a 2000mm ID segmented concrete pipe. The culverts are separated by a concrete weir which the water within the Brook overflows during flood conditions.
