Kaymac are a leaders in the fields of specialist sub-sea Marine Engineering in Wales and England.
With over three decades of experience, our specialist involvement is widely acknowledged by our clients. We provide innovative Marine Civil Engineering solutions to meet the needs of our customers, It is our exceptional customer focus and deep understanding of their needs which builds strategic long-term relationships.
Kaymac Diving Services was established over three decades ago, in 1976, and traded for a number of years, primarily supplying underwater engineering services for a limited client base. The company was bought out by the present management in the late 80’s, and continued to expand the client base with diving as the main core activity.
The increasing demands from clients for work other than diving, mostly marine engineering above water, led the management to change the company name to Kaymac Diving and Marine Services, and the company continued to flourish under the new title.
In 1994, a decision was made to enter into a new field; that of land based civil engineering. This was as a direct result of experience gained in the marine engineering sector, which had proved a great success and had allowed continued expansion of the company and exposure to new clients outside the confines of the diving and underwater engineering sectors.
The company name was changed once again to embrace all disciplines; and Kaymac Marine and Civil Engineering Ltd were launched in October 1994.
The company has continued to prosper until the present, where we are now the largest diving contractor in Wales and the West of England.
The company became Link-up Approved in 2003, and began the process of training employees for work on the railways. We currently have 13 directly employed personnel who hold a PTS qualification for work on Network Rail infrastructure and are sponsored by the Company with the NCCA.
The control of personnel engaged in railway site work is an important element of management to ensure the maintenance of competency standards and compliance with regulations applying to working hours, fitness and the misuse of drugs and alcohol.
The Company was a founder member of the Association of Diving Contractors, and have continued as a member for many years. In 1996 we were accredited with Investors in People as a result of our continued commitment to training of staff and personnel.
In 2002 we registered with Constructionline, the UK’s register of pre-qualified construction services, and in May 2003, we gained BS EN ISO 9001:2000 accreditation for the Supply of Diving and Marine Civil Engineering; showing our continued drive to provide quality services to an ever widening client base.
As our civil engineering business increased, a decision was made to become affiliated to a respected civil association, and in 2004 we joined forces with The Civil Engineering Contractors Association, which boasts some of the biggest names in civil engineering as its associate members.
