Location: Pooles Wharf, Bristol City Docks

Description of work: Construction of bridge foundations, ground stabilisation and refurbishment of retaining walls at Pooles Wharf, Bristol City Docks.

KAYMAC's proven track record in civil engineering combined with our expertise in the marine environment, allowed us to complete this complex contract on time and within budget.

The ground along side the retaining wall is stabilised using 22m long C.F.A piles due to the presence of a collapsed culvert. This allowed for vehicular access to the houses.	The bridge foundations are excavated, piled and the anchor bolts stools cast into the reinforced concrete.
Ground anchors are installed into the wall and pressure grouted to prevent further movement	The pivot bearing for the swing bridge during installation. The radius of the concrete wall is cast within narrow tolerances to enable clean operation of the bridge structure during opening and closing
The bridge on completion of works	The complete reataining wall - rebuilt, repointed and with new cast in-situ copings
